Critical Properties
Excellent resistance to oxidizing and reducing acids: Performs well in environments containing sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and hydrofluoric acid.
Good resistance to localized corrosion: Resists pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride solutions.
High-temperature strength: Maintains good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures.
Good weldability: Can be welded using appropriate techniques while maintaining corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
Packing
Pipes with plain or beveled ends, equipped with caps or bevel protectors. Small diameter pipes are packed in wooden crates or wrapped in woven bags and hexagonally bundled. Large-diameter pipes are loosely packed and wrapped in woven bags.
Application
Heat exchangers and condensers: Used in processes involving mixed acid environments or where both oxidizing and reducing conditions exist.
Reactors and vessels: These are suitable for handling various corrosive chemicals, including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and organic acids.
Process piping: Used for transporting corrosive fluids under demanding conditions.
Flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems: Resists the corrosive environment of FGD scrubbers, including sulfuric acid and chlorides.
Wastewater treatment plants: Handles acidic wastewater and chemical treatment processes.
Pharmaceutical and bioprocessing equipment: Offers excellent corrosion resistance and cleanability for handling sensitive materials and aggressive cleaning solutions.
Pulp and paper industry: Used in bleaching and other corrosive chemical applications.
Pickling and metal finishing: Resists the corrosive acids used in pickling and metal finishing operations.
