Bright Annealing Process

BA is the abbreviation of Atmosphere Protected Heat Treatment (Bright Annealed). The bright annealing process uses argon or hydrogen as the furnace atmosphere at high temperatures; through the argon or hydrogen and the surface of the steel tube, carbon and oxygen combination combustion to further clean the surface of the steel pipe in order to produce a bright effect. This way of using pure argon or hydrogen annealing heating and rapid cooling is called bright annealing.

Standard: ASTM A249, A269, A270, ASTM A213, 3A and BPE standard, G3459, JIS G3447.
Forming method: mainly multi-roll cold rolling, the dimensional accuracy of the tubes can reach 0.2%, and the inner surface roughness of the tubes can reach Ra<0.45um.
Features: Dimensional precision, overall cleanliness, smooth surface, and internal surface cleanliness superior to unpolished tubing.
Raw Material: Use ingots that have been melted twice in a furnace to meet ASTM A269 standards.

Manufacturing method: Through cold rolling + fine drawing, the dimensional accuracy can reach about 0.05mm, and the inner surface roughness Ra can reach about 0.4μm.
Heat treatment: Bright solutioning (annealing) under the protection of reducing atmosphere such as Hydrogen.
Cleaning: Ultrasonic cleaning with SC2286 cleaning agent, that is, degreasing and oil removal process.
Inspection: Hydrostatic Test + Eddy Current Test and other NDE Tests.
Finishing: Straightening + Polishing + Sizing.
Packing: Spray code + PE Bags + Plastic Caps + Shock Absorbing Packaging + Dustproof Packaging + Plywood/Steel-framed Boxes.
Use: Special gas or liquid transportation; Masterbatch for the Production of EP Tubing.
